Trying a new style in approaching the way i see things. Big Gulp anyone?

I have been studying colors and light this week and came across this image in my National Geographic magazine.  Just wanted to do a quick 30 min spit paint but I ended up spending about 2 hours on it instead. I love the mood the sun light brings around this family in hardship. Living in such poverty the family seems to not have any worries at all. Reminds me that as long as you still have your family with you, nothing else matters. Amen.
